Sono state fornite diverse spiegazioni che vanno dal contenuto sacrale dell’autorità che impedisce di concepire che essa sia in qualche modo malvagia e in mala fede, altri puntano invece si meccanismi mentali che vengono stimolati dagli elettrodi dei media unificati: se viene evocato un oggetto esterno su cui l’ansia può concentrarsi e viene fornita anche una strategia di azione contro l’oggetto pauroso, ad esempio il pericolo del virus, il pericolo del non vaccinato e via dicendo , allora le persone sono più disposte a seguire la narrazione. Niente più libertà, niente più democrazia, niente più autodeterminazione, niente lotta alla discriminazione, ma in compenso una produzione mai vista di ipocrisia e fanatismo.
