Pare incredibile, ma Big Pharma e si suoi vaccini appaiono ormai come un mondo angelicato dove gli interessi, le combine, le truffe, le spartizioni il lavoro di lobby che coinvolge la ricerca, i farmaci pericolosi, ma ugualmente distribuiti e venduti, le prebende date ai medici in cambio di prescrizioni, le false dichiarazioni sono stati cancellati dal ricordo tanta è la gratitudine per averci salvato dal raffreddore narrativo con vaccini totalmente sperimentali e aver proibito ogni cura perché non sufficientemente remunerativa. Eppure fino a qualche anno fa la sola idea di essere obbligati a fare da cavia avrebbe suscitato scandalo e disgusto, mentre ancora qualche tempo prima era scontato che Big Pharma facesse gli affari più sordidi del mondo oerché condotti sulla salute delle persone. Così pubblico qui gli stralci di un articolo apparso su Repubblica nel 2014 e segnalatomi da un amico, sull’affare Novartis – La Roche per mostrare come in pochi anni l’atmosfera e la narrazione siano completamente cambiate e da notare non è tanto la notizia, ma il modo e il tono con cui viene data:
” Big Pharma pensa a incassare miliardi, non a guarire i malati. Due colossi mondiali del farmaco, Roche e Novartis, si sono messi d’accordo per spartirsi i miliardi dalla vendita di due farmaci identici ma con nomi diversi (Avastin e Lucentis) e soprattutto a prezzi diversi. A danno dei malati, del servizio sanitario pubblico, delle assicurazioni private. All’inizio c’è la scoperta di uno scienziato italiano, Napoleone Ferrara, che nei laboratori della California della Genentech (prima che questa venisse rilevata al 100% dalla Roche) individua un principio che blocca il fattore della crescita dei vasi sanguigni. Un principio attivo che con Avastin serve per la cura di alcuni tumori molti gravi, mentre con Lucentis serve per guarire dalla degenerazione maculare senile, malattia che conduce alla cecità e che nei Paesi industrializzati minaccia un over 60 su tre. Il farmaco è lo stesso ma mentre una dose di Avastin ha un prezzo tra i 15 e gli 80 euro, Lucentis costa più di 900 euro a dose. Cosa fanno Roche e Novartis? Si mettono d’accordo per spartirsi il mercato. La Roche (che controlla Genentech) non registra il farmaco per la cura della malattia agli occhi e incassa alte royalties dalla Novartis per la commercializzazione del Lucentis. E siccome Novartis controlla oltre il 33% del capitale di Roche incassa, oltre ai proventi dalle vendite, la propria quota di utili.
Uno scandalo senza esclusione di colpi: le due multinazionali (ci sono incontri, scambi di mail, telefonate collusive che lo documentano) si sono spartite i compiti per creare l’allarme presso i pazienti sull’uso di Avastin nelle cure oftalmiche, e per sabotare il valore di ricerche indipendenti che dimostrano invece l’assoluta equivalenza terapeutica dei due farmaci. Poi c’è il lavoro di lobby sulla stampa specializzata, sulle commissioni parlamentari, sugli organismi del ministero.”
Qui la vicenda specifica non ha importanza, ciò che conta e che sorprende dopo aver vissuto un anno e mezzo di informazione completamente inginocchiata vero la Mecca della farmacologia, è di non trovare traccia di quella ottusa reverenza dell’informazione nei confronti di Big Pharma e dei personaggi come Gates che si aggirano attorno ad essa come catalizzatori di affari, ma anche portatori di inquietanti distopie. Tutto sembra meno sordido e meno inquinato, prova ne sia che un altro pezzo questa volta dell’Espresso, sempre nel 2014, riguardante un traffico di virus nella quale era implicata anche Ilaria Capua, è abbastanza duro nei toni contro questo “mercato” della salute.
E dire che adesso abbiamo contrati secretati sui vaccini che una volta non sarebbero stati tollerati, ricerche incomplete, frettolose, disoneste e per giunta malfatte per fornire risultati che permettano ai governi di firmarli e di imporli: nemmeno la più piccola critica incrina questo arcadico mondo. Anzi se compare qualche critica è per la scarsità delle magiche pozioni che fino ad ora hanno fatto oltre 15 mila morti ma probabilmente tre volte di più. Dunque Il declino nella libera informazione non si è presentato come un piano inclinato, ma come un precipizio che in pochi anni ha completamente trasformato i media in meri megafoni del potere in tutte le sue articolazioni e in tutte le sue deviazioni. Adesso in apertura di pezzo sarebbero capaci di scrivere che Big Pharma pensa a guarire malati, non a incassare miliardi.
